Module 3: G.I.Systems and Data

Image
This map is a comparison between 3 different projections for the State of Florida, highlighting 4 different Counties and their area measurements.      The lab and experience were fun this week. Arc GIS Field was a cool and unique tool, getting to go out into the field to collect data in real time and then using that data for the lab made it more grounded and relatable. Overall, this was a great experience that combined fun with practical.

Module 2: Data Visualization and Cartography

This is the final map from the Lab this week. The map highlights Escambia County in Florida, the UWF Campus, as well as the closest well populated cities to the campus. Some rivers and interstates are also shown. The lab this week was challenging, since it was the first experience with a lot of new processes in ArcGIS, and learning general guidelines for making high quality maps. I'm excited to see what next weeks projects holds in store for us.

Module 1- Overview of ArcGIS

This week was a good intro to the program and a good start to getting used to how the system works. It will just take more practice to get used to where things are and what they do.
